Descendants of John George ObermayerTable of ContentsI dropped this back to the eight generation - using a person born in 1914; I think before I had a cut off birth date of between 1920 and 1930; which put alot of current data into the 1940's and later; but if any of you want it down to that period which is the 9th generation okay - I wil re-do it - It is simple to do. I have added quite a bit to it since this has been done through obits, I have added only one GedCom file directly into this as I felt I trusted Roberta Kay (CARR) Wunder's data and work to this and have been working to merge all double enteries - I think I have it pretty well merged but not sure - as names used for the given name do not always match and some enteries do not give parents names or spouses names - which I merge on only - and since obits have been added in also so can merge into eventually - a descendancy print out is needed to weed out double enteries - I have two other files yet for comparing it too and add to the sourcing - but since it is not my personal lines - and this is free work - and I prefer to enter these files by hand for comparison - some do not have GedCom's available. Now I am trying to work documentation into it since those books were not documented properly - The numbers in blue after a name - indicate the sourcing which I have not included and those links will not work. I do have the documentation for it - and I am slowly adding documentation for the Overmyers of Culver area as well as Fulton county area. If you find any errors please feel free to send corrections - I am trying to get full dates and locations entered if at all possible. Many of the obituaries I have just entered into the PAF Data Base without doing much to the data weithin - as I go through the comparison process I will try to catch these too. The data within was database started from the 2 known Overmyer genealogies
There is a rapidly growing Grass Roots effort to organize a National Reunion of the Descendants of John George Overmyer. Rochester, Fulton County has been selected as the location with a target date of July 2009. A specific date has not been determined as of this time. I would like to ask each coordinator to place a notice on their county site. We are looking to contact as many descendants as possible. There is also a website Overmyer FAMILY if anyone is interested in helping with the event or just wants to follow what’s going on. if you find something that help's in your research won't you please consider -
