What's New

26 Zfeb. 2010 - I am now working in the cottage folders - this will be the biggest area of re-vamping. eventually each cottage will have its own folder - some may have sub-folders selating to them or even outside folders - . I have dump all files pertaining to hem loose into one folder and have started placing data into individual folders and as I get them done I am uploading them. I have started back and working forward on the cottage listings of 1876, 1880, 1900, 1908, 1922, 1930 and 1953 to present.; they will have to be re-worked some more as I get folders made for the cottages. Please if there is a missing link or problem let me know e-mail me the address of the page such as "http://genwiz.genealogenie.net/lake_maxinkuckee/whatsnew.htm" at prenst there are well over 7,945 Files and 577 Folders this is just on my computer - notw whats on site, i am bring the site down folder by folder re-working them and checking for missing material.

23 Feb 2010 - I have completed kids memory a listiing of Culver's downtown busineses over the years, Lake Association, Kings rout and unknown scenes on East shore - so far as luck has had it I have lost nothing but the material on the Culver Hardware part of I have recovered - but not that of Bill retiring, the old cahs register and other interesting tidbits - hopefully maybe it is lurking there on the dead XP if I can figure a way to access the data drive without to great of an expense. Coming up are the launch folders and and the lake cototage folder - each launch and cottage will have its own folder as I have been doing as I go along for alot of the topics on site - and as I go along i am indexing each folder - above the main indexes I already have. Some probably will feel that I and over indexing - but this is also a means of corss referencing data between the floders and files newly created -

17 Feb 2010 - I am up through the Ice houses folder - changing the format some what (mainly in background) making sure I have not lost anymore files - so far so good only on i lost is all the material I had on the Cash-Gos-Snyder Culver Hardwares ): - as I go i am cleanign out my workiing files that I have selavaged form what back ups I have - I still want to find a way to recuse my stiff off the XP data hard drive. The only thing I have not got to work is the 'update' - as I have had to change html editors again. I am better organizing things together more than seperate folders for things - and breaking into more folders and out of folders so its more visible to work with on this end. I am indexing where ncessary in my mind in folders to connect between other folders and pages as a reference guide.

11 feb 2010 - Some new stuff as I am going along - old stuff that was not accessible again once is; the address did not change on the slide or shows for books an post cards I keep finding more as I go down the folders - I did not realize that the 'global replace' did not take effect and no one complained ): I would of attempted to restore; only thing I could not of done was put the graphics back onto the 98SE fully. Creating more indexes for folders as I go also - learned through INGenWeb this can not be done enough - Have have broken the data for the cottages into individual folders - more to go and then will go back and re-link

8 Feb. 2010 - Moving along - PLEASE if the link does not work let me know - I did not realize that the "golbal replace" did not take affect in alot of the folders for the site change - making alot of the graphics not visible or accessible. Alot of these have now been corrected. going down the line of folders - trying not to jump around and out of alphabetical order - please be patient and understanding.

6 Feb. 2010 - alot of new indexes; pictures with html pages; lots of new folders and new data as I move along - down into the "C" folders. Let me know if any of the back grounds and graphics, pictures etc don't show up - please copy paste the address into the page - oh yeah hopefully most links will open up a new window thus you do not leave the page, except for the index pages but there are links back to them under each category.

31 Jan 2010 - well have started the transformation of site - not much change in look of presentation - just will be a break down and re-orgnaization of what I have - whill be placing folder 'outside' of another - or making ne folders for certain things in all when done should end up with over 1000 new folders, probably :) - hopefully i maybe able to find things at a glance instead of figuring uot what I stuch the subject under. 26 Nov 2009 - all of the pictures taken by Roscoe and Josephine Stevens are up. I have dotted some "i's" and crossed some "t's". Folders are slowly being transformed - re-organized and new ones made taking alphabetically for now. Tidbuts ar being added here and there and in some instances new information I have "stumbled upon".

23 Nov 2009 - 34 pictures from Patricia Van Shoiak Coles of cottages the Roscoe Stevens built, help build or remodled from1920's-1960's

14-15 Nov 2009 - There is going to slowly be some major re-organization of material. This will be a slow process.

A New front page(s) color scheme.

I will retain the basic graphics and backgrounds - unless someone tells me to dump them - the majority rules tho remember. All the Culver/Lake Maxinkuckee backgrounds are creations of mine; or are crops from the old maps of Culver/Lake Maxinkuckee.

Data wise on the history there is always something new - its added as found. It may be only a very very small tibbit here and there - such as a date, time, name or place. But every tibbit is a piece of the puzzle - the search.

Some have asked if I am still doing the site - the answer is YES - and probably will till the day I die - so you are stuck with me - stuck with the site etc. for awhile - the delimea is to who to leave it to - who will continue to try to do what I am doing; I doubt if my children will be interested in it and persuing it.

You just have to dig to find the "NEW". Research is limted to what I can find through the internet, newspapers and other ressources. I would love to get to the library, historical society, court house etc. but funds for such things is limited rather "NIL".

Information, corrections, pictures etc. are always welcome
