Indianapolis Club
The first structure on this property was built between 1850 and 1885.
The club, one of many around the lake, were usually fishing and hunting clubs. When the
Indianapolis Club was built, a long pier also was constructed to accomadate the
steamboats that ran around the lake beginning at the Vandalia Station Pier. These boats
required longer piers due to their draft.
