Hertiage Park

The issue of the Culver Citizen for: 1996 - November 6 – The Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver revealed plans for a small park on the site of the former Texaco gasoline station at the southwest corner of Main and Jefferson…

The Antiquarian and Historical Society created the Heritage Park on the corner of Main & Jefferson that was in
past years an empty lot and the Texaco Service Station.

The bricks are inscribed in batches of 12 contact the Antiquariand and Historical Society for an up-to-date quote of price on a brick - to honor your family, friend, or loved one. In the 18 Sep. 2008 Culver citizen it was stated:
  • 4" X 8" with 1 or 2 lines was $50
  • 8" X 8" with up to 4 lines was $100
Order forms are also available in the Museum room at the Culver Union Township Public Library.

The Also were instrumental in getting the Commercial District of downtown Culver on to the Historical list.

The brick sidewalk is lined with names, dates, memories, history and lots of genealogy.

I have taken photos of the some of the bricks and working on getting them all but it takes time and some I have missed because I have not overlapped right. Also I have not time the sunlight right for some of the bricks - and they are either to bright or shadows. I have not been able to get back to re-take pictures since a done this a couple of years ago.

I would like to load them into here so all could walk down the paths; but I am not sure if all will load into slide show as right now there are 534 pictures. I am thinking that a page for each letter would be best and break them up into small groups - but that will be the last project when and if I ever get them all photographed and cropped out. I have listed the most prominent surname on the brick first - naming the photo file by that surname and placed the surname first in the photo name thus creating an alphabetically listing for cross referencing so I can make sure none has been omitted.

Within the pages below are the bricks that are laid in the walks of Heritage Park; the inscription and a photo if I have. I know some are not so great but I had just got the digital camera - I have not been able to get back as yet., these were done 2006/2007.
