Anderson Boat and Bait Shop


The Culver Park portion of the access is pictured below. Just around the bend back in the hallow. The Anderson boat house was also known as the Anderson Boat and Bait Shop or as the Anderson Dock, stated as being on S. State St. Mr. Anderson ran it into the 1960's. Sitting down over the hill near the Train depot during the early 1960's and Until the late 1960's or early 1970's. A cement stairway with rails lead down to this area - and the access road below, in front of the one pavillion.

William W. ANDERSON, 89, former Culver resident, died Wednesday a 1:15 p.m. in the Miller Merry Manor nursing home in Peru following an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 4, 1887 at Georgetown, Ill. A longtime resident of the Culver area, he had operated a boat livery on Lake Maxinkuckee. He was retired from Culver Military Academy. He was a member of the Culver American Legion Post and a veteran of World War 1.

Surviving are one son, William F. ANDERSON, Guntersville, Ala., and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bonine funeral home in Culver. The Rev. Thomas FRENCH will officiate. Burial will be in the Culver Masonic cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
