Some time after 1914 (by the above map that was in the Castleman & Williamson lease from the Vandalia Railroad) at this point in time Willow Point was subdivided into 2 properties and the second
cottage was built on Willow Point Probably by - Thomas Benton Hamilton. Again Willow Point was subdivided again back in the about 1969; and created 303 Winfield St. property.

On the corner of this property sits a tribute to 'Duke' the postmans dog (tho not in reality)- he followed Steve Guise all over the southern end of his route from Mill

The Grist Mill and the Standard Bulk Plant was in back of these two
properties and in front of Willow Point where the cottages known as 'Cherry Villa' and 'Willow Point' aka Villa Primavera. This is the area today--

On the Opposite corner of S. Plymouth Street & Mill (behind the Robert & Louise (Strang) Ott house on S. Main which is across from the EUB Church) was a building - It runs in my mind that it was possibly a stopping point
for the trains, a depot for that end of town. Or could it of been a grocery? a gas station?
June (Garn) Napier Sirus rememebrs that it was one large room when the Arthurhultz's bought it, there was two pillars of either cement block or stone in front that
were were square this held up a canopy; and there were only three steps from the ground into the building. It had large windows in the front on each side of the door and was a stucco (with black, grey and white speck in it)
type finish on the outside. It had a hedge that ran all the way around the edge of the property line about 1-3 feet high depending upon its growth and if it was kept trimed up . It sat empty for many years until in the late 1970's
when Charlene (Garn)& "Ray" Raymond Arthurhultz and her husband bought it and remolded it and made it into a home. The Arthurhultz's bought it off Charlie Weaver owned and bought it off him or the estate.
Just when this building was last occupied is not known or if it had a name is unknown - but it sat empty in 1964 also as I remember and probably before that.

Cherry Villa on Willow Point
This point was also called 'Wolf Island' the 1870's and was one of the favorite embarking points for fisherman. when the named changed is uncertain. But the name 'Willow Point' came about I gather from the ample
amount of large willow trees that stood on the property and along the shore of the point.

is bounded by Clover St. to the North Marmont Street and to the South by South Plymouth Street - the west boundary is the alley.
The dot to the right reflects about where the house use to sit on this lot. The dot on the left represents where it sits today after it was moved. Up till this point this area was just empty

This was purchased by the Culver Cove project in the late 1980's as an expansion to their project from Mabel Pura - and then sold as financial problems

1922 - Sam'l Medbourn - Ice chanel property
Sally Medbourn writes: When Samuel Ezra Medbourn died, his son (my grandfather), Harry Edward Medbourn took over the ice business and started the Culver City Grain & Coal Company (where THE COVE now is).
This property - belonged all to the Co-op afterward. Most of it was swampy and it had several metal buildings on it for storage; Also the Ice chanel from the lake to the ice houses was located on this piece of property and the general location of the Medbourn
Ice Houses. Back in the 1960's there was a path from the houses across to Park-N-Shop; Al Sclahback worked at Park-N-Shop and lived in the old house in the bottom duplex and would walk across this lot to work - so would people of the neighborhood when they went to
the store if it was not swampy wet when it rained.

Culver - is giving up property at the end of Jefferson Street - as found in a public notice published in the Culver Citizen 4 Feb. 2010. in part as follows:
Notice of Bids
The Town of Culver is currently accepting sealed bids for town owned property at the east end of Jefferson Street, Culver, Indiana. The property is undeveloped,
vacant and triangular in shape with the deminisons of 550 sq. ft. The property is located off the shoreline of Lake Maxinkuckee with no lake access, but with lake
view and not ability to support any improvements without encroachment...
It is the light blue highlighted property below:
Since the property is land locked and of no benfit to anyone but the two adjacent property owners which is the Culver Cove and the Roberts; it would be safe to assume that one of them
will end up the property. But time will tell. it was valued between $14,590. and $14, 600.
This when original fought for was to have had lake access and was done in 1988-1989; what became of the lake access protion is unknown. Several people including David Burns and
other town officals at the time fought to retain lake access at the end of Jefferson Street; if memory serves right they had to appear in the Federal court in South Bend. Other accesses
being fought for at the time included the Daviess, Winfield, and Washington St.; a limited agreement for Washington Street was reached to allow access to the park area but is unknown
if it still exists or not.
The way it was before 1976.

Old Railroad right-of-way Tressel over the lake access road into park:
Back in the 1960's, 1970's and possibly early 1980's there was a side walk that curved down in front of the old kreuzberger Hotel (now Green's) off of E. State Street down to the remaining portion of it that is left in front of of the homes at
504 & 508 E. Washignton Street.
This property for years was the railroad, a cinder access road to Washington St. from Jefferson St. and an access ran along the lake edge between the railroad tracks south till about late
1970's or early 1980's when it was abandoned and then there is an access road into the Culver Town Park. An article in the Culver Citizen regarding the issue of Davis Street access - dates the time period -

Controversy At Davis Street
By Jean Williams
... At the last Town Board meeting, Town Trustees were asked why they felt they had an interest in Washington Street but not in the Davis Street access. The answer is evident.
Without the offer of an easement into the park at Washington Street, the entire town would be cut off from that entrance to the park. Without it, how would emergency vehicles get it?
The Washington Street easement ordinance is now under consideration as proposed by John Deery, owner of that access...

the address over the years has been given as both but always listed as "vancant lot". This is a vacant lot in essence - it has what is used as a cement boat houseand deck
top over looking the lake on it I believe at the end of State St. I think it originally was a part of the Kreuzberger Hotel property and could of been the boat house for it.
