This piece of subdivision lays between the lakefront addresses of 348 to 548 by the maps - more work has to be done in this area. Addresses that bear the Oak Cresent addresses are or were: 9, 11, 13, 60; others bear the S. Shore but are in theis subdivision on the non lakefront side.

This needs some more research - as to address and if bought by Jack Campbell; the address is the same as the John Burns cottage in before one of the parcels bears the S. Side Dr. address with no number.

Chauncey Lennen who was from Anderson Indiana married in 1947 Ruth Behmer a sister to Donald Indpendence Behmer and were children of Clarence D. and Gertrude Agnes "Trudy" Wiseman.

Ruth attended DePauw University and taught music at Morris, Illinois. She joined the Chautaiqua and traveled throughout the United Sates, Canada and Mexico. Ruth was an accomplished violinist, vocol soloist and pianist. For several years she was a member of Bill Taber's jazz band. One of her prime enjoyments was to enterain fellow members of a retirement circle while spending winters in Flordia. They later resided in the Behmer family home on Lakeshore Dr. & Academy (across from the LakeShore Clinic & NIPSCO substation. Ruth also spent many long and arduos hours with the music department of the Methodist Church - 1989 History of Marshall County.<

Mr. Burns has stated that his property was part of the Kline property (this is on the southeast end which would be the Venitian Village area)- but by plat maps this area - was the Schyuler Overmyer Farm and earlier it was the Easterday porperty before a majority of it became Medbourn plats (formerly Cromley) as shown below- I would say this is a part of the old Marina property. If anything it could of possible been a part of the Thomas McDonald/Daniel McDonald property too see the. This is the 1908:

He is a pharmist and when back home during the summer months has sub at the local CVS. He has told how when he remodeled that he found most of the walls of the cottage to be made out of wooden shipping crates with the labels still on them. Was mainly used in the as a fishing shack.

Faith Ritz Engle Hippensteel 100, Bloomington, Indiana, died at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 15, 2009 in Meadowood Retirement Community in Bloomington.

She was born July 8, 1909 in Indiana to Volna E. and Mamie (Gallion) Ritz She married Dr. David Edwin Engle, who preceded her in death and she married Dr. Russell Hippensteel who also preceded her in death.

She taught Latin, English, and Debate at Royal Center and Russiaville Schools. She graduated from Russiaville High School in 1926. She was also a graduate of DePaw University and a post graduate at the University of Arizona. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Tri Kappa, D.A.R., and Delta Delta Delta.

Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Engle Gurr and husband (Dr. Henry Sater Gurr)of Aiken, S.C.; one step-son, Donald Hippensteel and wife (Carolyn) of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Ruth Rusie of Martinsville and Esther Collyer of Bloomington; one brother, Eugene Ritz of Indianapolis; 3 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two husbands.

Services entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville, IN. Burial in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.

All existing buildings on the lots which were once 920, 936, and 944 South Shore were tore down some time after purchased in 2000 and a new residence built in 2001. It is said that there is a tunnel under the road to the other side of road.

They tore down the old cottages and built a new one in 1977. Sea wall, stone work etc. was doen by David B. Burns.

There was a log cabin on one of these properties and it was tore down also, only the fireplace remains and was incorporated into the outside grill and shelter house. There was an array of spring flowering bulbs - alot of daffodils, grape hychiths, crocous etc. filled these lots and all were bulldozed under.
