Bee Hunter Elevator

Lyons is the principl commerical point of the great Bee Hunter valley, noted for its fertility and great ceral yield.

Bringing into standard effect the prominence of the town is the Bee Hunter Elevator, which is recognized as the chief, as well as the most responsible, grain and wool buying depot for southern Greene county. The elevator was built during the year 1896, and is capacitated to handle several thousand bushels of grain per day.

The firm are the local agents for the Spencer Flouring Mills, and have in stock at all times the flour and feed products of the above referred to mill which is for exchange or sale. They also do a nice business in seeds; making a specialty of grass seeds of all kinds. Stockmen rather look upon this place as a public weight-point, to further the elevator business they have in service a late improved heavy draft scale which the buyer and selller of stock are willing to accept as being correct, in indicating weight.

The proprietors of this business proclivities ingrafted with progressive spirit, characterized with motives, crowned with integrity. The senior member is G. W. Mull, who for years has been prominent in the business circles of Lyons and that vicinity and is the owner of a considerable desirable real estate. Mr. Sellers, not long since, came from Rock Island, Ill., to become associated with the business. He is a young man imbued with excellent traits of character, and has made for himself and firm many frinds. No concern of the county is more highly appreciated by the agricultural fraternity than is the Bee Hunter Elevator, Mull & Sellers, proprietors. - 21 May 1901, Bloomfield News
