Ab Vandeventer Taken By Death

Funeral Services will be held at Lyons on Saturday

Ab Vandeventer, farmer and stock buyer, died at 6:45 yesterday evening at his home near Lyons after a serious illness of four weeks.

Mr. Vandeventer was born in Highland township, May 1 1867. He was the son of Thomas Vandeventer and Polly Ann Long Vandeventer. He was married to Mary Pickard in 1892 and had lived in the Lyons community since that time.

Surviving besides his widow is a daughter, May Fern Vandeventer; a brother Simon Vandeventer of Bloomfield route one; a sister, Mrs. James McKee of Lyons; six half brothers, J. H. Vandeventer and Herschel Vandeventer both of Indianapolis, Richard, Rusell, Sheldon and Ezra all of Bloomfield.

Also surviving are four half sisters, Mrs. Gertie Bingham of Bloomfield, Mrs. Flossie Wilson of Calvertville, Mrs. Mary Kendall of Lyons and Mrs. Martha Tolen of Worthington.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at the Lyons Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Burris officating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Jenkins & Sons funeral home in Lyons until the hour of the service.
