Newberry School Bell The old school bell was dedicated at 5 p.m. on 23 Apr. 1988 by the school Alumni. The bell tower was built by Bill Hellums. Some momentous articles were encased in the brick. The clapper for the bell which had been lost was made and donated by Charley Yake. The bell was given to Mrs. Betty Young by her grandfather, Frank Musselman and she has cared for it since. Her Aunt Mrs. Elizabeth Deck Smith brought it back to Newberry July 1987 and made the bell tower possible.
