Moved from Rootsweb to Genwiz.genealogenie.net - Becuause as another put it so well:

A couple of geeky genealogists with a little free genealogy project of their own offered UsGenWeb and other genealogists unlimited free space on their new server at their domain called Rootsweb.com. Many of us jumped on this opportunity.

Fast forward a few years later and big business sees a good business opportunity and buys Rootsweb. Things go along okay for awhile and Rootsweb, gets bought and sold some more along with Broderbund/Family Treemaker/genealogy.com and Ancestry.com etc. Now we are getting into really big business with TGN aka -The Genealogy Network aka the Greed Network.

They are in the process of moving all the "Free side" of the server over to the paid side of Ancestry.com - and mixing them all together - what will come of the "Free Site" - is unknown - will they remain "Free" - or will they end up also in the "pay for" portion - no one knows - but groups such as UsGenWeb, InGenWeb and many others are getting out of "Dodge".

It is fine if you or others can pay for genealogy thats is free or not free - but I have worked hard on this site - and it is meant to be "Free" not end up on the a "paysite" where you have to pay to access it or find it - maybe I am wrong to feel this way - but I do - and I hope each of you appreciate or get something out of the hardwork that I have done - still doing - Why souhold someone else profit off of what I have done? Yet I know I can't prevent it as it can possible still be done.

This site is NOT AFFILIATED with anyone or any society - and NO one is over me or under me - It is MY site - of MY records I have collected on Greene County through the years - This is a means to share and preserve all I have collected over the years with others - for FREE! It will NEVER be connected with anyone or site - till I decide that I want to give it up. I already have in mind who that will be and what site! -

Alvin H. Inman was County Clerk for Greene County Indiana when I purchased the microfiche of records from the Clerks office in 1988. His staff was very helpful to me when I was at the courthouse and during the process of purchasing the microfiche sets.

I owed a great a debt of thanks to Mary Lou (Neill) Combs Wiles Brewer ; and several ladies who help me get started on my Greene County Indiana ancestry all who are deceased now - Faye L. Flynn; Minnie (Merritt) White and her daughter Wilma (White) Rollins.

I dedicate these pages to all who have Greene county Indiana ancestors.

And of course Happy Ancestor hunting to one and all! Still working on this site slowly!

I takes time to database, scan etc. all I have on hand from over the years. Please be patient.

If a navigational bar background happens to be missing PLEASE let me know which page. If the sub-navigational bar does not fit the page also let me know - I was lazy (sorry) I made one master for the site then - adapted it for each of the categories down the line - and then - have cut and pasted the old pages into the new page - it is still alot of work! As alot of of the format code had to de taken out of the data area - pictures re-sized etc. - bear with the change. It is your site also - so please let me know KINDLY where a link is not working or should be removed from - pasting in the address into the e-mail would help

If you happen to have a suggestion as where a links need to be placed for easier movement around the site please suggest it - PLEASE ! I am in process of fine tuning and trying to add some new databases.
