Duties and Responsibilities

They are outlined in a two page outline but briefly these excerpts are quoted:

"In an effort to improve the historical communication network...the Indiana Historical Society created the ...County program with two year renewable appointments...by the Indiana Library and Historical Board and the Indiana Historical Society Board of Trustees.

Qualifications: Someone who is well acquainted with the county, able to travel, available for contact, and interested in local history.

The position is construed as honorary but a working position without vcompensation..."

In 1981, the County Historian's position was created. Those serving as former Greene County Indiana Historians were:
