Jonathan Emery and Sarah WalkerOur Emery's came over from Ashwick, England about 1835 to Eden, Vermont. I think; Jonathan and wife Sarah (Walker) Emery sailed from Wisbech but haven't found proof of that. His son George Emery died at Andersonville Prison of starvation in the Civil War. The family mostly stayed in Vt. until my parents generation and then they didn't get out of New England. They were dirt poor farmers. I did have an uncle (Roy Emery) who lived in Topeka, Indiana for some time. I have a nephew Kraig Emery. Shirley |
